The calm before the bomb
06:22
|
|||
Part 2:
Death would not come to him
Death would not know his name
Even when he was torn apart by fire
All his parts survived
But knew they were not whole
Before returning to the start of time
Part 3:
Where is the rest of me? (repeat)
How can this be?
How can this even be?

My nose, how far it goes
01:33
|
|||
My nose, how far it goes
Its whereabouts are unknown
It won't look down but went with a bang
My nose, how far it goes
My nose, how far it goes
And so I need to compose
How will I smell?
How will I tell?
My nose, how far it goes
My nose, how far it goes
My plea I need to propose
No more scents of spring so fair
No more lingering blossoms in air
If there was only a way I could prepare
My nose, how far it goes

Stan blew to pieces
04:00
|
|||
Stan blew to pieces
Each piece would see me again
Stan blew to pieces
How can I still be his friend?
He wants me to act like he’s not blown up
He wants me to forget (to forget)
I pretend we’ve never met (never met)
Did he die? Oh, he tried
But he hasn’t yet
He’s still alive in all those little pieces
Stan blows to pieces
Each time he explodes again
Stan blew to pieces
He may have started the flame
I tell him to find someone else to call
Someone who doesn’t care (doesn’t care)
He’s scattered everywhere (everywhere)
Oh, each piece that he is
I feel is someone new
Understand that Stan blew to pieces (2x)

Last chance
07:03
|
|||
Witch’s words or worse
Evil tongue out loud spoke a curse
Stan the Man would not
Ever breathe his last
He forgot
Lived to blow apart
Tested fate and out came his heart
Had a chance to die
But he sold it for another lie
“This is your last chance”
He wanted to live forever
But not in so many states
He’s putting it back together
Even if it’s too late
(repeat)

Unfortunate digit
02:21
|
|||
The first right hand finger of a middle aged man
Found itself in a park 3 blocks away
Due to a lit cigarette near natural gas
Somehow it survived the terrible blast
A bit roughed up but otherwise intact (x2)
“But I cannot sit here and rest for very long
Coming towards me is a hungry, mean dog
And I need to re-attach to the hand I belong to
I’ll use my intuition to find my way back
As fast as I can I’ll crawl (x2)….
“Hey Man, please wait for me, I’m on my way,
I’ll be there in a minute!”
But before I could get there an ambulance // took him away
(they took him away)
3rd/last time: (they took him, they took him, they took him away)

Right on, right arm
04:27
|
|||
All you need is life and one of these
You’ll move around as long as there’s a breeze
Stan was never a southpaw anyway
He’ll miss you more than leftie every day
Ch:
Right on, right arm
Stan will do no more harm to you
You can’t clap after this song is done
But one-armed push-ups sort of got more fun
You can’t see, or smell, or taste a thing
But birds can still fly when they have one wing
Ch:
Right on, right arm
You still feel warm
Right on, right arm
Stan the man can do you no more harm
Outro:
Right on, right arm
Live on, live arm
Table for one
Now the song is done
(end with one hand clapping)

One legged hop
02:39
|
|||
What is one to do-when-you-get separated from the body
That you spent your whole life attached to?
You can feel sorry for yourself and shed endless tears
But-a-leg without eyes can’t even cry
And besides, I still have mobility, it’s strange but true
I can sense where I’m going without crashing into you….
Crashing into you….
The one legged hop (hey!) hop until I drop (hey!)
Then take a little breather until I’m feeling eager to
Hop some more again / with enthusiasm (everybody!)… gotta
Get back to the body / ‘cause it-can’t-walk-or-run without me
And I’m dependant on it too that’s why I’m hopping to the hospital…
Get back to my body / ‘cause it-can’t-walk-or-run without me
And I’m dependant on it too that’s why I’m hopping to the hospital
(the hospital, the hospital, the hospital)
The one legged hop / now is not the time to stop…
Hopping all the way to the hospital…. (repeat x 3)
1 2 3 4 5! 1 2 3 4! 1 2 3 4 5! 1 2 3!!! (X2)
Body…. parts….. reunion. Aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaahhhh!
1 2 3 4 5! 1 2 3 4! 1 2 3 4 5! 1 2 3!!! (X2)

Attachable penis
04:16
|
|||
Stan woke up this morning in a lot of pieces
And his penis was missing again
This happens all the time but it’s attachable
It comes in handy a lot of the time
Stan can leave it at home when he thinks it’s
gonna get him in trouble
or he can rent it out when he doesn’t need it
but now and then he goes to a party, gets drunk,
and the next morning can’t for the life of him remember
what he did with it
First, Stan looked around his apartment,
And he couldn’t find it
So he called up the place where the party was
They hadn’t seen it either
Stan asked them to check the medicine cabinet,
Cause for some reason he leaves it there sometimes,
But not this time
So he told them if it pops up to let him know
Stan called a few people who were at the party
But they were no help either
Stan was starting to get mildly annoyed
Stan really doesn’t like being without his penis for too long
It makes him feel like less of a man
I mean, his name is Stan the man
After a few hours of searching his house and calling everyone he could think of, Stan the not-whole man was getting very depressed
So he went to the bank and ate breakfast
Then, as he walked down Front Street towards St. Lawrence Market where some of the other pieces of Stan were hanging out,
Stan saw his penis lying on a blanket next to his broken jawbone
Some guy was selling them
Stan had to buy his penis off him
He wanted 220 but Stan talked to him down to 17
Stan took it home, washed it off,
And put it back on
He was happy again
Almost complete
People sometimes tell him he should stop blowing up and losing his penis
And Stan the man always tells them,
“Don’t worry. It’s attachable”

“Eyes, where are you?” / “Over here, two blocks north of you”
“And lips, where are you?” / “At the grocery store picking-up-some food”
“Ears, can you hear me?” / “Yes indeed, we’re above-you-in-the tree”
“Nose, this is your head, can-you-find-your way back?” “Yes, I can”
“That’s excellent, let-us-all convene…
To re-assemble / become whole again
For a head restored is-greater-than-the sum of its parts….
Parts… x 2
Although arguably the head is-the sovereign of / the human body, citadel of the brain
Of sight and smell and hearing as well / yes, it’s quite impressive, this reconstructed head
But still it is not sufficient by itself / to function fully, it needs something else
To find its way back to its body would help / get the blood flowing, oxygen as well
And to act on its commands, it needs arms, legs and hands….
To re-assemble / become whole again
For the body restored is-greater-than-the sum of its parts….
Parts… x 2

Until he was the bomb
02:47
|
|||
Stan the Man used to like the holidays
that people celebrated with fireworks
When he was a boy, Stanley liked to blow things up
like dolls and fruit and sometimes soccer balls
Stan the Man used to like Michael Bay films
Because of all the things that would blow up
He built a house just to explode it
And filmed it so he could watch it again
Again and again usually in slow motion
Bombs were fun until he was the bomb
Bombs were fun until he exploded like a bomb
He was the bomb until he was the bomb

Body parts reunion at the hospital
Body parts reunion at the hospital...
Room 222 / East General Hospital
Stan, an unfortunate man / or rather, his torso and right leg
Is laying in bed / hooked up to machines
Feeling incomplete / very slim chance of recovery…
After the explosion / it looked rather hopeless
But everyone is back / and can be re-attached
be re-attached
Body parts reunion at the hospital (oh, baby!)
Body parts reunion at the hospital…
But wait a minute! / Stan has a visitor!
It’s right forefinger! / “Hey Torso!” it says. “Nice to see you again!”
“Likewise!” says Torso. “So how’d you get here anyways?”
“I slithered and crawled / I hopped then took a cab
I walked to your room in this hospital.”
Chorus
And then… more visitors arrive
And Stan is feeling more alive / when he sees his missing head
And his missing toes / his missing arm
His missing leg / he’s especially relieved to see his wee-wee again
Chorus
Oh yeah! / Uh huh! / you too! / all together now! / come along, everyone!

Unwanted piece
02:36
|
|||
All the pieces want to get back together
Hell no we’re doing fine over here!
Well tell the pieces that I’m leaving forever
Hell yes you gave us reason to cheer!
Don’t you think you will be lonely on New Year’s?
Hell no we’re doing fine on our own!
You’ll change your mind if you start pressuring your peers
That’s why we all got cellular phones!
CH:
Now I’m an unwanted piece! (3x)
Now I’m an unwanted piece of a puzzle that wishes it was whole again!
Let’s have a gathering, invite everyone
Hell no we’ll never get that close!
Well tell the pieces that the show isn’t done
Hell yes we know how those things goes!
Don’t you think we all are stronger together?
Hell no we’re doing fine over here!
You’ll change your mind when someone leaves you forever
Hell yes you gave us reason to cheer!

Stan the Man's operation
03:23
|
|||
Dr. T. clapped his hands twice <clap! clap!>
“Body parts, I need your attention!
When I say ‘Assume your positions’
Everyone must go to where-you-belong….
Right forefinger, you go here
Left leg, please go over there
Penis you go here, and right ear over there
Once you’re all sedated I can start the surgery….”
Stan the Man’s operation
Dr. T, the celebrated surgeon
It was a qualified success
Dr. T (stands for ‘Tambileeshiman’)… he’s the best!
After the explosion things looked grim (real grim)
But Stan is now recovering nicely
In fact he looks and feels just like new, though a
Few minor errors it is true (it is true)….
The left-leg… is on backwards
A finger ended up on a foot
The penis where an eye was and an eye-on-the-back-of-a-hand
But otherwise things are looking up for Stan the Man…

(narrator) “In this immoral world the moral of this story is:
Don’t play with powerful explosives
It is not a game if it blows up in your face
Leaving your body parts all over the place….
(Stan the Man) “Yes, but in this case things turned out quite a bit differently (well didn’t they)
Stan the Man is feeling young and healthy again (yes, he is!)
It is quite the miracle that he was re-assembled
Kids, go play with explosives like me! (X2)
(N) “How could you be so irresponsible!
Look at you! A hand on the top of your head (head, head, head)
A big toe where your nose is supposed to go
Kids, I beg you to ignore what Stan the Man says
Don’t play with explosives! Not now, not tomorrow!
And never, ever, ever, ever, ever play with explosives!
Never, ever, ever, ever, ever, ever play with explosives!
(S)“But someone’s gotta know how to use dynamite
For demolition projects like blowing up bridges (blow them up! X2)
I say let them learn early through trial and error
So kids, go play with explosives like me! (repeat)
Explosive! Explosives! Explosive! Explosions! (repeat)
