Squid and Squirrel

Before the big adventure they were so unaware
They didn’t even know about the other’s existence
Squid lived in the ocean, while Squirrel lived in trees
The only thing in common was the S,Q, (no T).

But after many years stuck in their own worlds
Squid crept up on land while Squirrel went to sea
In a tree the squid could see with a squirrel’s eyes
And Squirrel squirted ink to make the sharks go blind
It gave him time, time to hide
It gave him time, time to flee
It gave him time, time to escape
It gave him time, time to fly
And he made it back to the safety of his tree.

Squirrel and squid once traded places
Squid grew a tail and Squirrel grew tentacles
Tentacles….

And after a few days of exploration and new experiences
They grew homesick and made their way back to their natural habitats
Which they’ve come to better appreciate:
Squirrel, to the trees; and Squid, to the ocean.
